X introduces Grok, a rival to ChatGPT.
Grok, X’s rival to ChatGPT, is being made available to Premium+ users.
Elon Musk founded xAI, an artificial intelligence company, in July 2023, and it developed Grok. Users in the United States can use it. It will soon be available in other nations.
Why it matters to us- These days, generative AI is an essential tool for PPC and SEO marketers. Thus far, Grok has received positive feedback from industry experts who commend the chatbot for being more intelligent and creative than previous models. Marketers who want to investigate possible advantages should think about integrating Grok into their work.
Availability- Not every American Premium+ member has access to Grok. Longer-term subscribers are given priority during the rollout, allowing them access earlier, per a post on X. By the end of the next week, access should be available to all X users.
Before assuming you don’t have access, X suggests updating and restarting the app if you are using a mobile device and are unable to see Grok.
Starting out- Grok is available on the web, iOS, and Android via the X side menu. For easier access, the chatbot can also be added to the X app’s bottom menu.
How it functions- Similar in function to Google’s Bard and OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Grok is a conversational chatbot. It is driven by an LLM named Grok-1, which incorporates input from human assistants as well as web data as recent as Q3 2023.
Why is it unique- Real-time data from X is ingested by Grok and integrated into responses. For instance, ChatGPT would not be able to respond to a question like “What is trending in the news today?” But the question would be answered by Grok.
As stated by xAI:
- “Grok is an AI designed to answer nearly any question and, in a more difficult case, even suggest what questions to ask. It is modeled after the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.”
- “Grik has a rebellious streak and is meant to respond to questions with a little wit, so please don’t use it if you detest humor.”
Responses- Thus far, Grok has received positive feedback, with some even suggesting that it might “win the Chat AI war.” Former employee of Google and Abacus CEO.Bindu Reddy, an AI, wrote on X:
- “Grok: Initial Thoughts…”
- “- Model of class 3.5.”
- “- lacking ChatGPT’s features and bells.”
- “- makes up for it with spice.”
The real-time feed on Twitter is a major benefit.
Has a lot of novelty value, for sure. It has the potential to win the Chat AI war if Elon can swiftly enhance it to have long-term value. highlights the possibility that winning the AGI race and the commercial Chat AI market could be mutually exclusive. In summary, Grok is not even close to GPT-4 quality, but it still has a strong chance of dominating the Chat AI industry.
- “Despite the jokes and bad language, Grok’s answers are incredibly funny because they sound far smarter than those of the other ChatLLM apps.” In essence, the other LLMs are less intelligent due to the safety RLHF. By severely restricting it, you are eradicating a portion of the LLM brain.
- Edward Sturm, a digital marketer, also shared his assessment of X:
- “Grok is crazy. I’m discovering a ton of insightful remarks and observations that were hard to come by only yesterday.
- “Knowledge has dramatically increased with Grok. It displays Tweets that are difficult to locate through standard Twitter search. tweets that include information not provided by ChatGPT. This is revolutionary for market strategies that are creative. #startups #growthhacking #seo #marketingsecrets
Next actions- Grok currently only supports text. Unlike Bard, it cannot comprehend images or videos. In the future, xAI intends to include support for processing audio, video, and other kinds of content.
What X is expressing- Musk described Grok as follows on his X account:
- “The Grok system from xAI is meant to respond with a hint of humor.”
- “Grok has an enormous advantage over other models in that it can access information in real-time through the 𝕏 platform. It is based on and fond of irony. I’m not sure who could have directed it in this manne
Conclusion
Grok, xAI’s latest creation spearheaded by Elon Musk, presents a notable addition to the Chat AI realm. Lauded for its real-time data integration from the 𝕏 platform and a humorous demeanor inspired by the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Grok has garnered positive feedback, with industry experts suggesting its potential to dominate the Chat AI industry. Despite not yet reaching GPT-4 quality, its prioritized rollout for long-term subscribers showcases xAI’s commitment to user accessibility. With plans for future content type support, Grok’s impact on the generative AI landscape is poised to offer users an engaging and unique conversational experience.
